How to Enjoy
All whole grains should be well rinsed and drained before use.
- Reap the greatest benefits of Okanagan Apple Whole Cereal for breakfast by preparing it raw. Simply soak grains overnight or 10-12 hrs in the refrigerator. This has the added benefit of activating the seed enzymes, making the grain more digestible and nutritious. Remember to rinse well before soaking. Sprinkle on cinnamon to taste. Enjoy with yogurt and fresh fruit for a delicious start to your day.
- To cook, soak grains as above, add water to cover and bring to boil in a small sauce pan. Simmer for 7-10 minutes or to desired consistency. The soaked grains may also be cooked on med-high for 4 -5 minutes in the microwave. Sprinkle on cinnamon to taste.
- Note that the flax secretes gelatinous substance due to the Omega-3 fatty acids when soaked that is very healthy and nutritious. If you do not care for the resulting texture then rinse the grains again before consuming.

Ingredients:
Emmer, Oats, Buckwheat, Brown Flax, Apple and a touch of cinnamon.
Interesting note:
The dehydrated apples we use in our breakfast are recovered from local orchards. Many apples in an orchard are wasted because they have minor blemishes and are rejected for fresh consumption. These are perfect for dehydrating and add great taste to our cereal while increasing the number of usable apples from the orchard.
